Bourbon Slush

A refreshing twist on an ‘Arnold Palmer’ tea/lemonade mix with orange and bourbon!

Although slushes tend to be a summer drink, this nice combination of tea, lemonade, orange, and bourbon is always a hit at Super Bowl parties in February and World Series parties in October as well.

If you don’t mind a bit of silliness, one of our favorite customers was kind enough to make a video for us:

Drink

  • Fill a wine glass 3/4 full with Frozen Bourbon Slush*
  • Top with Fresca
  • Stir

*Frozen Bourbon Slush

  • Put 1 cup of sugar and 7 cups of water in a pan
  • Bring to a rolling boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves
  • Boil for 10 minutes to remove air, then set the pan on the back burner
  • Place 4 Earl Grey tea bags in a large measuring cup
  • Pour 2 cups of (additional) boiling water over the bags
  • Cover and let steep for 20 minutes
  • Combine the tea and boiled sugar water in a large mixing bowl, pouring slowing
  • Add 12 oz of frozen lemonade concentrate
  • Add 12 oz of frozen orange juice concentrate
  • Gently stir
  • Allow to cool to room temperature
  • Add 3 cups of Makers Mark bourbon
  • Pour slowly into a shallow covered container and freeze for 24 hours

Note: For a smoother slush, gently stir/recombine the slush 4-5 hours after you begin freezing it.
